Computer Types

A computer basically manipulates all the data and makes it easier to access, store, and use whenever you’d like to. At first, there were three types of computers – desktop, tablet, and laptop. Nowadays, we have added the smartphone as the 4th type of computer, due to its personal computing capabilities.

We have to thank you for the hard work you’ve put in without access to such a large library of information. But the fact that you haven’t used technology for your whole life doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t or cannot.

Desktops

The desktop is one of the first types of computer and comes with separate components that become a computer when everything is connected. Some of the main parts include the computer box, which contains all the computer hardware, a monitor, a mouse, and a keyboard. 

Some of the newer desktop versions have all-in-one options, that come as a single monitor, which has all the parts inside of it. Of course, it doesn’t include a keyboard and mouse – they are always separated. A desktop is always powered through the power cable and must be connected to electricity to work.

Tablets

The tablets were an innovation toward lightweight and wireless computers that can be taken anywhere and used with a touchscreen. It’s a medium-sized version of the computer that is neither a notebook nor a smartphone. 

But nowadays people prefer to use smartphones as portable computers, as they have become strong enough and can be connected to the internet at any time.

Tablets are also used as a camera and have the capabilities to create high-quality photos and videos. They can be used for hours without the need for charging.

Smartphones

You’re surely familiar with the evolution of the smartphone from a standard cellular phone with keys to the modern touchscreen ones. They are similar to a tablet and have better cameras to catch the right moments in the highest quality possible.

Most people prefer smartphones over any other type of computer, as they can be taken anywhere, thanks to their small size – they literally fit in your pocket! You can be connected to the internet 24/7 and do almost everything using a smartphone.

Laptops

Last, but not least are the laptops. They’ve become more popular than standard desktop computers, as they are portable and can be taken anywhere using a backpack. It’s an all-in-one computer, which opens up like a clamshell and has a keyboard and mouse included in the package. 

They’re convenient and can be used both on a battery and connected to electricity to keep charging and working for hours.
